The new connector offers two separate contact places per phase for a lead cross section of up to 25mm2. As the contacts consist of a closed cage, the use of cable lugs or cable head sleeves is not required.
With the new connection variant that will bear the denomination "L" the use of protective caps becomes superfluous to a large extent; the new design complies with the requirements of IP20 and offers finger protection against accidental contact. Discharge resistors will be supplied in the future as separated discharge modules (also protected to IP20).
For the time being, the new terminal will be applied to all capacitors with a diameter of 75mm and larger. However, in the near future a similar terminal shall be introduced for smaller diameters as well.
